Manual Update Galaxy S3 mini i8190 with Official XXAME1 Jellybean 4 1 2 Firmware

Here’s something for Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini smartphone users as there’s an all new firmware for the device and is dubbed as Jellybean 4.1.2 XXAME1 firmware version which comes with some bug fixes along with some minor tweaks here and there of which we are not having the exact change log. So, for all those who have not got this update can apply this update manually. Before we proceed on to check on what are the list of instructions to apply this update, you will have to follow the list of quick pre requisites mentioned below;

Note: Applying this firmware won’t Root / Void the warranty in any manner. It’s completely safe to apply this update manually.

Quick Pre Requisites:

Create a backup of all the data with the help of below mentioned steps and not with the Samsung KIES as your device may not detect with the KIES after applying this update as till now this update might not have arrived for your Country.

SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log - Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”

Enable the USB Debugging from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging” and also you will have to ensure that the minimum battery life should be 30% so as to ensure that the phone doesn’t get turned Off in the middle of update. Disable / uninstall all the security suites installed in your phone.

Now, turn Off your device so that it can be entered in the Recovery Mode. Recovery Mode in Galaxy S III Mini can be entered by pressing the Volume Up + Menu Button and then holding these both buttons, you will need to turn ON the device so that it can be entered in the Recovery Mode.

In Recovery Mode, clear all the cache and wipe the data by selecting the corresponding options. Once it’s done, reboot the device in the Normal Mode. If you are on custom ROM firmware, then you also need to clear the dalvik cache.

Procedure to Update Galaxy S3 Mini i8190 Smartphone with Jellybean 4.1.2 Firmware:

Download the latest & Official Jellybean 4.1.2 XXAME1 Firmware for Galaxy S3 Mini I8190 smartphone along with Odin. Once downloaded, connect your device to the computer with the help of original USB cable and then

Open Odin in your computer. Download Mode in Galaxy S3 Mini I8190 can be entered by first turning Off the device and then hold Volume Down Rocker Key + Menu Button and then Power ON the device. Once the device is booted and you see the Download Mode Green Robot, you can release the button combos.

Connect your device to the computer with the help of original USB cable and then you will see that the ID : COM section will turn Yellow / Green, indicating that all the drivers are installed successfully.

Click on “PDA” to select the tar file which you got from the firmware package which is the TAR File which you got after extracting the file from the first step.

Once all the file is selected, click on “Start” to start the process of firmware update. Once the firmware update process is completed which will be mentioned in the ODIN, the Galaxy S3 Mini I8190 device will be rebooted.

For firmware update to be finished, it will take around 2-3 minutes for applying the update. Once the device is updated successfully, the device will be rebooted. As soon as you see the Language preferences or the Home Screen, you need to disconnect the device from computer and enjoy using your phone.

Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome Lcd, just re insert the battery and re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned instructions.

How to Root Samsung Galaxy Mega 6 3 I9200 with Android 4 4 2 XXUDNE4 KitKat Official Firmware Using Odin Guide

Announced in April 2013, Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 is now available for purchase in several countries in the world. The Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 - as in a 6.3" Lcd, comes with 3G (GT-I9200) and LTE (GT-I9205) version that runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
Followed by the market rollout, XDA-Developers member VCore has released root method for both I9200 and I9205 version of Galaxy Mega 6.3.
Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 users who wish to root their devices, may follow our step-by-step guide.

Pre-requisites
1. Install USB Driver for Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 on the computer.
2. Enable USB Debugging Mode on the phone by navigating to Settings >> Developer Options.
3. Make a backup of all your important data before following the guide.
4. The Galaxy Mega 6.3 should be factory unlocked and not locked to any particular carrier.
5. Ensure the battery of the phone is charged more than 80 per cent.
6. The Root Package file works only on Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3. Applying these to any incorrect variant might brick the device. Verify the model number of the Galaxy Mega 6.3 by navigating to Settings >> About Phone.
Files Required
1. Root Package for Galaxy Mega 6.3 (vcoreroot-v2.tar)
2. Odin 3.07 (Mirror Link)
Steps to Root Galaxy Mega 6.3 Running on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Firmware
Step 1: Extract Odin 3.07 file using WinRAR/7-Zip/WinZip or any other extracting tool.
Step 2: Switch off the Galaxy Mega 6.3. Then boot the device into Download Mode by pressing and holding Volume Down, Home and Power buttons together until a construction Android robot icon with a warning triangle appears on Lcd. Now press the Volume Up button to enter Download Mode.
Step 3: Launch Odin on the computer as an Administrator.
Step 4: Connect the Galaxy Mega 6.3 to the computer using USB cable while it is in the Download Mode. Wait until Odin detects the device. When the device is connected successfully, the ID: COM box will turn blue with the COM port number. Additionally, the successful connected will be indicated by a message saying Added.
Note: If the Added message does not appear, then try re-install USB drivers or changing the port on the computer.
Step 5: In Odin, click the PDA button and select the vcoreroot-v2.tar file.
Step 6: Verify that Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time checkboxes are selected in Odin. Also, ensure the Re-Partition option in Odin is not selected.
Step 7: Double-check and click Start in Odin. The installation process will now begin.
Step 8: Once the installation process is completed, your phone will restart and soon you will see a PASS message with green background in the left-most box at the very top of the Odin. You can now unplug the USB cable to disconnect your device from computer.
Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 running on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean firmware is now rooted successfully. You can now install any app that requires root permission. Verify the root status of the device by downloading Root Checker app from Google Play Store.

How to Root Oppo Find 7a Android Phone

Oppo Find 7a Android smartphone can now be rooted so that you can then install the Google Apps and Services in the same to make the most of it. While Oppo of late started coming out with some awesome smartphones, here comes a work around which will help you install G Apps in your device, but for this you will have to root the device. After rooting, you can also install the custom ROM firmwares which are based on the Kitkat 4.4.2 firmwares. After checking out the list of quick pre requisites mentioned below, you need to proceed to the next step where we have summed up the procedure which will help you install the same.

Quick Pre Requisites:

Create a backup of all the Data in your Oppo Find 7a Android Phone manually with the help of below mentioned manual steps. Apart from the below mentioned steps, make sure that you are also creating a backup of all the Chat Messengers data as it will also be wiped off after rooting the device.

SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log -Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”

In your Oppo Find 7a, enable the USB Debugging Mode from “Menu > Settings > Applications > Development option”. Minimum battery left in your Oppo Find 7a Android Phone should be > 50% or else the device might just get turn Off in the middle of rooting.

Rooting will also help you install many apps which need root access and also you can then install many custom ROM firmwares which will be checking out in the coming days to come.

Let’s find out on how you can root and install the custom recovery image in your Oppo Find 7a Android Phone.

Procedure to Root Oppo Find 7a:

First up, download the Oppo Find 7a recovery file from here to your computer along with the Root and Google Services Zip package.

Extract the recovery zip file to open the recovery executable file in your computer.

Up next you will see the detailed list of some Chinese instructions. Turn off your device so that it can be entered in the Fastboot mode.

Fastboot mode in Oppo Find 7a can be entered by pressing the power + volume up button together. Fastboot should appear on the display.

Connect your device to the computer with the help of original USB cable and Hit on enter to start the process of rooting.

After this, you need to disconnect your Oppo Find 7a and go in to recovery by pressing the power button + volume down.

Select the “English” language as mentioned below;

After this, you need to head over to the path English > Install from SD > Wmjan_Root_4.3.zip and install. This will add Super users and Root RE apps to the Find 7a.

You now need to Install Wmjan_Gms_4.3.zip to install Google services. So there you go, you have now successfully rooted the device. To check on whether your device is rooted or not, you need to check the same with the help of “Root Checker” app.

Note: If at all your Oppo Find 7a smartphone gets in the boot loop mode, then you need to turn off the device and then reapply the update from the start. To turn off, long press the power button and repeat the whole process again.

Guide How to Root HTC One Windows Mac Linux

For those of you who want to root your HTC One, here’s a step-by-step tutorial for all Windows, Mac, and Linux computers, that will allow you to unlock the bootloader, install TWRP recovery, and root your HTC One without losing your apps/settings by using ADB backup.
This root method will work on all of the following HTC One smartphones:
HTC One M7 – AT&T/T-Mobile/International/Unlocked/Developer
HTC One M7WLS – Sprint
Also will work on Android 4.2.2 and Android 4.3.

Before we begin, MAKE A BACKUP of EVERYTHING on your HTC One internal storage by copying the everything to your hard drive! (For Mac, please install Android File Transfer, which will allow you to connect your HTC One as a disk drive.)
Step 1. First, go to Settings->Developer options and make sure USB debugging is checked ON.

Step 2. Connect a micro-USB cable from your HTC One to your computer.

Step 3. Download HTCOneRoot.zip and unzip to HTCOneRoot directory. This zip file contains everything you need to root your HTC One!
Download HTCOneRoot.zip (For Windows, Mac, and Linux)
If you have Mac or Linux, no driver is needed. For Windows users, if you don’t have HTC drivers installed, run the HTCDriver_4.1.0.001.exe file to install drivers.

If drivers are installed correctly, you should see “My HTC” or something similar like “ADB Interface” in Device Manager for Windows.

Step 4. Open a command prompt/terminal on your computer and type:
For Windows:

cd Downloads
cd HTCOneRoot
adb backup -apk -all -f backup.ab

For Mac:

cd Downloads
cd HTCOneRoot
chmod 755 *
./adb-mac backup -apk -all -f backup.ab

For Linux:

cd Downloads
chmod 755 *
cd HTCOneRoot
./adb-linux backup -apk -all -f backup.ab

Step 5. Go to your phone and choose “Backup up my data”. This will back up all of your app and app data.

Step 6. Once app backup is done, go to Settings->Power and make sure Fast boot is checked OFF.

Step 7. Turn off your HTC One. Then hold down Volume Down and Power buttons together for about 3-5 seconds until you see bootloader menu.

Hit the Power button to enter Fastboot mode.

Connect micro-USB cable from your HTC One to your computer.

Step 8. Type the following in your command prompt/terminal:
For Windows:
fastboot oem get_identifier_token
For Mac:
./fastboot-mac oem get_identifier_token
For Linux:
sudo ./fastboot-linux oem get_identifier_token

Step 9. Copy the identifier token you get exactly as shown below (or see video tutorial).

Step 10. Go to HTCDev.com and log-in. If you don’t have an account, register then log-in.
Click on “Unlock Bootloader” then “Get Started”.

Step 11. Choose “All Other Supported Models” then click on “Begin Unlock Bootloader”.

Step 12. Choose “Yes”.

Step 13. Make sure check boxes are checked ON and click on “Proceed to Unlock Instructions”.

Step 14. Scroll all the way to the bottom and click on “Proceed to Step 5″.

Step 15. Scroll all the way to the bottom and click on “Proceed to Step 8″.

Step 16. Scroll all the way to the bottom and paste your token you copied over earlier. Make sure there’s no white spaces or INFO (if using MAC/Linux).

Step 17. Hit “Submit” and if you copied and pasted the token correctly, you should get a success message.

Step 18. Check your e-mail and you should have received Unlock_code.bin file from HTC.com.

Step 19. Download and copy the Unlock_code.bin file to the HTCOneRoot folder.

Step 20. Next type in command prompt/terminal:
For Windows, type:
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
For Mac, type:
./fastboot-mac flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
For Linux, type:
sudo ./fastboot-linux flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin

Step 21. Go to your phone and choose “Yes” using Volume Up button then hit the Power button. Your HTC One will reboot in about 5 seconds.

Step 22. Once rebooted, your HTC One should be completely wiped and you should get Welcome message just like the day you got your phone. Sign in through the setup process then copy the CWM-SuperSU-v1.30.zip file in HTCOneRoot folder to anywhere on your HTC One’s internal storage.
*Note – For Android 4.3 or 4.4, please use the file “UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.65.zip” instead of v1.30.

Step 23. Power off your phone then re-boot into bootloader menu to fastboot mode like you did in Step 7.

Step 24. Type the following to install recovery:
For HTC One M7 (AT&T/T-Mobile/International/Unlocked/Developer)
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-m7.img
For HTC One M7WLS (Sprint):
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-m7wls.img
Then Type:
fastboot erase cache
For Mac, replace “fastboot” with “./fastboot-mac”.
For Linux, replace “fastboot” with “sudo ./fastboot-linux”.

Step 25. Choose “Bootloader” and hit the Power button.

Step 26. Choose “Recovery” and hit the Power button.

Step 27. Once in TWRP recovery, choose “Install”.

Step 28. Choose the file CWM-SuperSU-v1.30.zip.
*Note – For Android 4.3 or 4.4, please use the file “UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.65.zip” instead.

Step 29. Swipe to flash this file. This will root your HTC One by installing SuperSU superuser app and SU binaries.

Step 30. Choose “Reboot System” to reboot.

Step 31. Once rebooted, you will find “SuperSU” app in your app drawer. Congratulations! You’ve successfully rooted your HTC One! You can verify full root by installing a rooted app like Titanium Backup app.

Step 32. Next, let’s restore your data. Go ahead and copy all of your data (you backed up earlier) back into your HTC One’s internal storage.
Then, go to Settings->Developer options and make sure “USB debugging” is checked ON. (You will have to do this again since your phone reseted itself when you unlocked the bootloader) Connect micro-USB cable from your phone to your computer.

Step 33. Next type the following to restore your app and app data:
For Windows:
adb restore backup.ab
For Mac:
./adb-mac restore backup.ab
For Linux:
./adb-linux restore backup.ab

Step 34. Go to your phone and hit “Restore my data”.

Step 35. Your HTC One should now be fully rooted along with your apps!

Step 36. HTC One stock firmwares are HARD TO FIND. So, my suggestion is to make a backup ROM at this point. That will allow you to easily unroot and restore stock firmware if something goes wrong or you want to take your phone back for warranty.
You can do this easily by re-booting into TWRP recovery and selecting “Backup”.

FAQ:
Q: Does this root method erase my data and personal files?
A: No, if you follow everything in this tutorial, you will be able to root your HTC One, keep your data and personal files. So make sure you follow every step!
Q: I cannot flash the TWRP recovery using fastboot!
A: Please see revised Step 24 on this page, the TWRP file has been updated to the latest version!
